Getting here

The most common way of getting to Iqaluit is by plane.  There are two airlines that can get you here: First Air and Canadian North.  Some people have a preference of airline. I have flown on both, and I don't actually see a big difference. Flights run daily out of Ottawa. The funny thing is, they both leave Ottawa (around 9:30am) and arrive at Iqaluit at roughly the same time:  12:30pm.

There are other flights from the smaller communities in Nunavut that will get you here as well, but if you are already in Pond Inlet or Cape Dorset you don't need my help getting yourself to Iqaluit.

Another way to get here is by cruise ship.  These run from July to September as long as the water stays free of ice, and are quite expensive.  We're talking several thousand dollars per person.

There is no real "harbour" in Iqaluit, so visitors need to come ashore via zodiac.
